Weddigs Fischerstube in Helgoland

We used to like and eat here regularly. Quality and prices were good. But since you can no longer go into the restaurant with a dog and only sit outside on the street, we hardly go here anymore. Pity!

As always, it was great. Enjoy your meal. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Moderate prices.

The menu offers everything from fish to meat. Something for every taste and really only the finest ... 👍🦐🦞🍹

For almost 30 years, Weddigs Fischerstube has been a permanent address for us for 3 evenings every year, and we have always been looking forward to our stay there long before that. The long-time chef (he has worked extremely well there for almost 30 years!) Has not been there for about 5 years, that was a small downer. But now a completely unsuitable waiter has been up to mischief there for about 2 years. He is very rude, immediately offended by small defects and makes absolutely no secret of the fact that we are simply not welcome to him. This year he wanted to seat us at a table with 3 seats on the first evening, but there are four of us. We had to wait for something to become available. On the last evening of the summit, he told us with a shrug that he had nothing free for us, either we could wait 1.5 hours somewhere or stay away completely. It hurts to say goodbye to a long-standing, beloved tradition, but we won't go back to this restaurant as long as that person is pissing off guests there. I very much hope that the owner will soon realize that he is doing himself no favors in the long run with employees who have no interest or pleasure in their work. And I very much wish that he will manage to achieve at least part of the quality that this restaurant once had in the 90s and I wish him every success!

Wedding Fischerstube has a rustic interior, friendly staff and, above all, very tasty dishes that are more than good value for money. On our last visit we ate the Schnitzel Wiener Art, contrary to our habit (yes, in a fish restaurant😁) ... and it was great !!! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Heligoland ....

Eaten very tasty. I recommend reserving a table here before visiting Heligoland. The restaurant is always very busy, with luck we were able to get a table at noon. Next time there's the fish plate.

We were there a few years ago, it was great, and now the food is no longer that good, even carelessly prepared. That was better, but the staff was very nice and accommodating.

An experience report: I wanted to stop there one evening around 8 p.m., read the menu and prepare to go to a restaurant. At first I just wanted to have a drink. There were seats available outside (not 100% occupancy, it was already later). I took a seat at a small table and I certainly didn't block any seats for other guests. Then I was expelled from the restaurant in a rather unfriendly manner. Just drinking something is not possible (is that actually the license?). An uncomfortable situation for me, as other guests also noticed. The reason was: "We are fighting with Corona ..".). For me, Corona was not the reason, but simply a lack of customer orientation. Guests are only payers, not customers. There was no response to an email from me. A small apology would have been helpful. But customer orientation does not really exist. Maybe my experience is an isolated one. But it happened that way. Conclusion: don't go there if you just want a drink, even if it's there to prepare a dinner !. My rating does not refer to the quality of the food, because I could not / could not test it.

Quaint, cozy fish restaurant with fantastic food. I had a cod fillet for € 17.90. Left wonderfully natural with a light mustard sauce. We recommend!! But make a reservation! Very friendly host.

For me a restaurant that is really good and not a tourist trap. The food is excellent and the portions are big enough to fill you up. Well worth the visit.

Always friendly staff. As expected, the food was good. I always love to come back here. Also because it's nice and cozy with a nice atmosphere.

Knieper were perfect. Only the wet wipes or water bowls for cleaning your fingers in between are missing. We recommend.

Very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and good service. Food tasted great. We ate there for two on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary. The table was nicely decorated, which we were very happy about. Unreserved recommendation. Make a reservation in advance!

I cannot recommend the fried cutter plaice because of the much better examples on Heligoland. The plaice was not fried until crispy, only cooked. The meat was totally mushy and did not come off the central bone. The left bacon was tasty and of poor quality. The only positive thing was the delicious fried potatoes as the only side dish. No salad, nothing ...

A perfect restaurant for this island. Just what we were looking for for lunch. Very nice ambience, very friendly staff, fast service and - what is of course most important - delicious food. The very fair bill that followed rounded off the positive impression. I will be very happy to come back here, thank you!

Great atmosphere here on site. Friendly staff who also understand fun. Fleet service. We had pasta spinach cream sauce with fried salmon and parmesan. DELICIOUS*****

Really nice fish restaurant. Try the dishes where you get different types of fish, here it can really be tasted that the restaurant knows how to handle the goods. Feel free to book a table, the place is rightly popular

Nice ambience. Nice, attentive service. Card small. Large portions. Fish and everything else freshly prepared and very tasty. Prices slightly raised but absolutely justified with the quality delivered. Be sure to book a table in advance.

Very tasty fish and the lobster soup is good too! In the fishing season there are Knieper here! The price segment is a bit upscale, but the portions are large and the food is of good quality!

I ate twice at this place and the fish was amazing. I highly recommend a dish called " Pannfisch", which is a three medium size fish fillet with a side of "Bratkartoffeln" roasted potatoes. By the way, the ship's crew also eat in this place, that must to be a good sign.
